Hello! My name is Kim Chua (she/they) and I am from Los Angeles, CA. I have a B.A. in Public Health Policy from the University of California, Irvine, but my paid professional background instead ranges from data entry to barista work.
Presented with opportunities to travel across state and country lines, I explored around with my DSLR and held working holiday visas in New Zealand and Australia. In 2021, I pursued graphic design as a career, after years of volunteering as one for nonprofits. I work with my depression and dissociation through creative means in order to destigmatize mental health among Asian identities.
With AADI, I found my affinity for advocacy and am working to champion accessible design. I design full time during regular business hours while also contributing to RespectAbility, Gold House, and Rainforest Partnership. Grateful for all the support I received as a volunteer, I plan to actively engage and help those who aspire to design on a professional level.
